APPLY TO AFS SCRIPTWRITING 2024



AFS Scriptwriting for Features is open to all UAE national and resident writers who have written at least two short films that have been produced and novelists with at least one published works.

To enter the program, please submit the below:

  • A treatment for a feature film with the following guidelines:

    • Length: A minimum of ten (10) and maximum of twenty (20) pages long with font size 12 and single spacing (if in English), and font size 13 and single spacing (if in Arabic).

    • Genre: Of the “narrative” genre, meaning the story is a fictional piece of work.

    • Location: A regional story to be produced in the UAE.

    • Originality: A fully original work of the applicant.

  • A logline (up to two sentences).

  • A synopsis (up to 300 words).

  • One-page biography.

  • Motivation letter/ writer’s statement (2 or 3 pages).

  • Links to previous works: 2 links to short films, and/or one link to a published novel.

PLEASE NOTE THAT:
  • All shortlisted candidates need to be available for an interview during September 2024
